2022 RISD Summer Gathering

by

After a three year hiatus, the RISD community once again had the opportunity to celebrate another successful year with the annual RISD Summer Gathering at Tillinghast Farm.

With sunny skies and plenty of good cheer, more than 400 staff, faculty, and their families enjoyed a gorgeous Rhode Island summer day while dining on traditional cookout fare, ice cream novelties, and frozen lemonade.

Additionally, guests also had the opportunity to stop by the RISD family-run lemonade stand, hosted by the children of Sydney Lake, Nisha Sundararaj, and Jen Howley, to grab a refreshing drink and make a donation toward RISD’s scholarship fund. Thanks to all who stopped by and donated, these young entrepreneurs were able to raise more than $50.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make this year one to remember: Public Safety Officer Reginald Packer for securing the grounds; Senior Mover Tony Correia, Groundskeeper Nick King, and Assistant Supervisor for Grounds and Moving Jonathan Andrade for helping to set-up and break-down the event; Events Planner (CCES) & R25 Administrator Alexis Garcia for their on-site support; Title IX Coordinator + Institutional Discrimination Officer Sydney Lake, CAPS Case Manager Nisha Sundararaj, and Director of Risk, Emergency Management, and RISD Property Holdings Jen Howley; Senior Career Advisor & Data Systems Jason Arnone for providing the soundtrack for the celebration; Easy Entertaining for once again catering the event; Luca’s Ice Cream; New England Lemonade; Balloon Twisting by Antknee; and Caricaturist Noa Juarez. And as always, a big thank you to all members of the RISD community who participated in the event!
