This month, we are putting the spotlight on new RISD Fund Officer Gabriel Navarro. Gabriel joined the RISD community in August 2020 as a Community Coordinator for Residence Life before taking on his new role within Institutional Advancement.
“I really enjoyed working directly with students in my previous role and I wanted to share all of the amazing things happening on campus with alumni and other members of the RISD family. At the same time, I wanted to find a new role that challenged me to think in new ways,” said Gabriel. “I am really interested in hearing how RISD students are using their degrees after graduation and where they end up. The RISD Fund Officer role was a perfect mix of everything I was looking for!”
When asked, “Why RISD,” Gabriel shared, “The students! It’s such a joy to be surrounded by so many talented and motivated students. It’s easy to see how much they care about their art and each other. I love playing a small part in helping students to actualize their dreams and grow as individuals and artists.”
